This year, the EuroCinema Hawaii Awards Gala was held, once again, at the historic Westin Moana Surfrider Hotel on October 15, 2011, with a red carpet event emulating a bit of the "promenade de la croisette" of the Cannes Film Festival.

Christa Wittmier Honolulu's Nightlife Columnist/Blogger wrote: "THE BEST FANCY PARTY OF 2011" - "I dunno, I think it’s the arrivals. It’s a bit spectacular. Hanging those giant silk banners from the pillars causing a spectacle in Waikiki then hiring all those people to applaud and greet you outside while your photo is being taken. Just gahhhd. The awards themselves are only 2 years old. The Europeans wanted more European representation in the greatest Film Festival in the world. Who wouldn’t? Well, now they have it. It’s pretty sickening, I must admit. I’m glad I got to see it first hand. I will be there every year infinity".
